Title I: Family Night
NOTE: If you need transportation to this event, please contact us at 651-796-4500, at least one day before the event.
The American Heart Association has recently developed a new sponsorship opportunity for local companies to have a local impact within our schools. The Recess Reboot Initiative:
♥ Provides PE equipment necessary to keep kids doing what they do best – playing!
♥ Continue developing best in class PE curriculum for teachers to use at any time
♥ Support the American Heart Association’s continued fight to urge our law-makers to protect PE time during the school day
Today, about 2/3 of kids are not getting the physical activity they need to be healthy - including playtime outside. Another reality is that school budgets are shrinking and many schools in our community are unable to provide the necessary resources and PE equipment.
The American Heart Association Ambassadors are hard at work year round to make a difference in our community and encourage healthy behaviors. They wanted to give local students, our future leaders of tomorrow, a gift to start off the school year right. The Ambassadors hosted an event to raise enough money to provide a school with a Recess Reboot kit. They are providing these gifts to encourage students to get outside and start moving. We are thrilled that Hope Community Academy School is the second metro recipient of a Recess Reboot kit including,
Hope Community Academy School was identified as a worthy recipient because of their support of the American Heart Association Jump Rope For Heart program. Ms Benecke and her students went above and beyond to raise donations for the AHA and the school, as participating schools can earn PE equipment by raising donations through this program. CONGRATULATIONS!
The Scholastic Book Fair will take place in the HOPE library October 9 - 12. Students in all grades will be able to purchase Scholastic books here on those days without having to place an order and then wait for the books to arrive. Prices typically range from as little as $1.50 to about $15.00. The book fair will be open each of the conference evenings. Cash or checks only.

As a member of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, HOPE Community Academy strives to help our students make healthy lifestyle choices. Therefore, HOPE Community Academy DOES NOT allow edible birthday treats or the treats MUST meet the wellness snack guidelines per the student Wellness Policy.
